Witness the Sublime: From Northern Cascades to Coastal Primates
Experience the dramatic contrast between the emerald peaks of the North and the rare coastal biodiversity of Central Vietnam. Our Landscape & Wildlife Photography Workshop is a premium masterclass designed to take you from the thunderous cascades of Ban Gioc to the intimate, colorful world of the Red-shanked Douc Langur.
Crafted for artists who seek both grand scale and rare biological encounters, this 10-day journey provides the high-end gear expertise and exclusive access needed to capture Vietnam’s natural heritage. As of 2025, Vietnam welcomed over 21.5 million international visitors, yet our workshop remains strictly limited to 6 participants to ensure you remain far from the crowds, focusing on the “Art of Silence.”

Professional Techniques: The Art of Silence & Scale
This tour balances two distinct photography disciplines:
- Landscape Mastery: In the North, we use ND (6-stop or 10-stop) filters and long exposure to master the movement of water at Ban Gioc (70m high and over 200m wide). We focus on “Atmospheric Perspective,” capturing the misty limestone karsts and tea hills.
- Wildlife Precision: On the Son Tra Peninsula, we track the Red-shanked Douc Langur. With a stable population of approximately 1,300 individuals in this reserve, we use specialized trackers to ensure close-up portraits. You will master Animal-Eye AF tracking and high shutter speeds to capture the “Queen of Primates” in her natural canopy habitat.

Expedition FAQ
How high is the success rate for seeing the Douc Langur? Son Tra Nature Reserve holds the largest stable population in Vietnam, with roughly 1,300 langurs. While wildlife is never guaranteed, our trackers follow their daily feeding routes (peaking between April and June, and again in the autumn), giving us an exceptionally high success rate for portraits.
Can I fly a drone at Ban Gioc Waterfall? Yes, but only with our official permits. Because it is a sensitive border zone with China, unauthorized drones are strictly prohibited. We handle all legal licensing to ensure you can capture the 300mspan of the falls safely.
What lenses do I absolutely need? For landscapes: 16–35mm and 24–70mm. For wildlife (Langurs): a 400mm lens is the minimum, though 500mm or 600mm is ideal for capturing their unique facial expressions without disturbing the troop.
Is the Garrya Mu Cang Chai resort good for photography? It is arguably the premier location in the region. The resort offers 5-star views of the rice terraces directly from your balcony, allowing for world-class sunset shots with the comfort of luxury amenities.
